Agents of Change. A NAIDOC Week 2020 event.

In 2019 TSA started our reconciliation journey with our first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). As we finalise our second Innovation RAP with Reconciliation Australia, we’re looking beyond our business to the broader construction industry and considering how we can be agents of change.

To celebrate and expand our knowledge during NAIDOC Week TSA’s Reconciliation Working Group Chair, Anthony Felice hosted a conversation with Debbie Barwick, Chairperson and Executive Officer at NSW Indigenous Chamber of Commerce (NSWICC), and Troy Rugless, Director & CEO of PSG Holdings.

The conversation recognising the achievements and current challenges, and explored how the individual can take action to change the level of Australias First Peoples participation in the construction industry.

During the conversation, the speakers encouraged all who work in the construction sector to build stronger connections. Have more conversations with Aboriginal business to really understand their capabilities. As the understanding of capability and capacity grows, these businesses can be introduced to existing supply chain networks, providing more opportunities which in turn can lead to growth.
