TSA Riley helped ISPT to achieve success through a hands-on approach to design management and close consultation with the numerous stakeholders.
TSA Riley provided comprehensive upfront project management services to improve the visual impact, ambience, aesthetics and weather protection of the GPO Postal Lane in the Melbourne CBD.
We assisted ISPT to collate stakeholder input, engage and manage the consultant team, develop the design, obtain authority approvals.
TSA Riley also liaised with tenants and asset management, developing a cost plan, and running a competitive market tender to appoint a contractor. Key stakeholders included Heritage Victoria, Fire Brigade and City of Melbourne Town Planning.
Challenges TSA Riley overcame included:
Ensuring no impacts to the GPO nationally listed building
As the works were constructed on the boundary line
Noting the laneway is also a path of escape from the GPO building
With old services, foundations in-ground, and other latent conditions.
Additionally, the requirement that the area remained operational throughout construction.
Re-use of the existing infrastructure, driving innovation for energy efficiency.
