ProjectMeadow Mushrooms

Meadow Mushrooms Limited is the major player in the production and supply of mushrooms to the New Zealand marketplace. TSA Riley has an ongoing trusted relationship with Meadow Mushrooms. Whilst originally engaged to develop an overall property master plan, TSA Riley went on to work hand in hand with the client to deliver multiple projects introducing significant new buildings.

The main driver for the total programme of works has been to replace the older style growing buildings with the more efficient “shelf farm” technology increasing output, but more importantly driving out cost from the ongoing operation.

The building work with Meadow Mushrooms started in 2013/14 with the successful delivery of 12 new growing rooms. Since that time TSA Riley has successfully delivered:

• The development and construction of a new two storey office building.
• Construction of a new storage and mixing shed
• Further bulk and location planning along with road and car parking realignment
  introduction of nine additional composting tunnels, doubling the output from their Dunsandel plant.
• 36 new growing rooms being built across two buildings (12,500sqm)
• Seismic strengthening and upgrades across their Canterbury property portfolio.

TSA Riley has been the trusted partner from the outset on these projects and have seen them all right through until handover. In fact, with our ongoing involvement on their sites in most cases we are still around to assist well after the assets have been put into operation.

It is a matter of pride that we have been able to save Meadow Mushrooms more than the value of our fee in each of the projects above. This has been achieved by combining critical evaluation and our own industry knowledge to drive smarter and more efficient outcomes.

All projects have been completed within time and budget allocations. The ongoing nature of our engagements speaks to the value that we have provided and resulting customer satisfaction.
