The Spark Building sits on prominent site at the intersection of Hereford Street, Colombo Street, and Cathedral Square.

TSA Riley provided full project management and tenant coordination services to the landlord of Spark’s prominent Headquarters. The IL2+ five-storey plus base isolated project, covering an area of 9,900sqm provides 5,000sqm of commercial office space over three floors for anchor tenant Spark. High-end retail and hospitality spaces activate Hereford Street, Colombo Street, and open onto a plaza overlooking Cathedral Square to the north. A restaurant and bar with a large outdoor terrace will occupy the rooftop.

The building achieved a 130% NBS rating for seismic resilience with a combination of base isolators and other low damage design detailing. It includes state of the art services designed with sustainability in mind and has achieved 5 Green Star Office Design V3 along with NABERSNZ 5 Star. Being the first new commercial building to open in Cathedral Square since the earthquakes, it has had significant public focus and has required careful management and stakeholder engagement.
