HS2 Bat Structure

HS2 is a landmark rail project with an impact that will be obvious for generations. It is believed that the additional capacity provided will accommodate passenger numbers rising to pre-COVID-19 levels while driving a further modal shift to rail helping reduce carbon emissions.

Working for EKFB on behalf of HS2, our involvement is with the erection of a 2km encasement structure to the high-speed rail line to protect endangered bats and minimise the train’s effect on their colonies. We provide commercial and planning support to the change team.
