Interim Inpatient Unit Modular Programme

Keeping Hawke’s Bay Hospital operational while major upgrades are underway.

To expand capacity at hospitals across Aotearoa, Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is rolling out 5 off-site manufactured interim inpatient units. These units provide additional flexible clinical spaces while longer-term hospital redevelopments progress. They are built to the same clinical and safety standards as permanent hospital facilities.

TSA Riley provided procurement advice for the engagement of the Design and Build contractor. Subsequently, our team was also engaged to provide advisory and assurance services for the works at Hawke’s Bay Hospital. This includes overseeing workstreams including FF&E procurement and integration, digital services integration, clinical services engagement and operational readiness.

Working within the live hospital campus, and across multiple contractors and stakeholder groups, our team is helping coordinate the transition to operational go-live, helping to ensure a seamless, safe and efficient integration of the interim units.
