RBKC Town Hall Refurbishment
Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea

TSA Riley was appointed to act as the Clients cost managers for the total office refurbishment of RBKC Town Hall. The project was phased over four years on a floor-by-floor basis (spread across five floors) with sectional completion within each phase to allow for the decanting and replacement of staff in the refurbished areas.
Refurbishments included new hot desk facilities where the layout was designed for seven desks to every ten people, one-to-one meeting rooms, breakout areas, kitchen and eating areas. The basement works also included meeting rooms, training facilities, new canteen and bar, toilet and show facilities, and reception area including a reception desk, waiting room, swipe turnstiles, automatic doors and disabled lift access from entrance to lobby.
The principal drive for the project was that all the M&E infrastructure and office layout had come to the end of its useful life and required upgrading to accommodate the clients' requirements of a modern working environment. The objective of the project was to create a 'working from anywhere' environment that is motivational, modern and fits the needs of the people and the departments.
