Deferred Maintenance Programme
University of Sydney

TSA Riley supported the University with a maintenance programme for their $4.7 billion property portfolio.
The University’s Central Operation Services (COS) department is responsible for the ongoing operation and the use of the University’s portfolio. COS has a whole-of-life strategic focus on these assets. This maintenance programme brought together four key program streams, Sustainability, Building Fabric / Envelope, Building Services and User Funded streams. This has helped to create efficiencies in project delivery.
TSA Riley provided strategic direction and assurance at a PMO management level and project management delivery services. Our team was fully integrated into the University’s team, working closely with their internal resources and other consultants. Specialist knowledge was provided concerning building services, sustainability, building envelope and facade remediation.
Our team understood the importance of the delivery of each project in the program and the impact on operations in the busy live campus environment. We drove innovation, such as the deployment of the latest technology systems and utilising drones to assess building conditions. This provided significant advantages, including allowing the University to predict when an asset requires work and when funding needs to be available.
