Winstone Wallboards GIB Factory
Winstone Wallboards

Located in Tauranga’s Tauriko Business Estate – on a site over two and a half times the size of the former Penrose site – this new facility ensures Winstone Wallboards is ideally placed to meet New Zealand’s future demand for plasterboard.
Incorporating the latest global innovations in plasterboard manufacturing technology and automation, the full range of plasterboard products are now manufactured at the Tauriko facility. This, coupled with quicker changeover times between products, provides a greater degree of flexibility and boosts Winstone Wallboards’ ability to respond rapidly to varying market demands.
The 12.7ha Tauriko development became home to one of the largest plasterboard manufacturing facilities in Australasia. With 63,000sqm of buildings, the site provides 1.5 times the manufacturing capacity of Winstone Wallboards’ Auckland plant with scope for further expansion.
TSA Riley provided several roles through the design and construction phases of the project. These included project management; design management; Engineer to the Contract; and Engineer’s Representative. TSA Riley also provided the role of Programme Manager for the accompanying change project – working with the project team and Winstone Wallboards teams to deliver the four-year change programme.
