Supporting our community

Positive impact. TSA is not just about the things we build, but primarily the positive legacy we help generate for the communities in which we work. Through our projects we get to play a beneficial role in the lives of people, creating places to live, learn, work and enjoy. We also like to give back to our community directly and so partner with a number of community organisations across New Zealand – below we introduce some of these organisations and the great work they do.

Keystone Trust for over 26 years the Keystone Trust has supported and enabled students who have financial need or have been affected by adverse circumstances to take up tertiary studies in the property and construction sector. TSA has been a Key Scholarship Sponsor of the Trust for six years. This year’s TSA scholarship recipient is Harrison Gosling, who has joined our Auckland office as a Summer Intern. As a Keystone Scholar, Harrison will not only receive financial support from TSA during his second year of study but will also have access to mentoring and networking opportunity as well as pastoral care from our team as well as the wider Keystone Trust community.

KidsCan TSA has been proudly supporting KidsCan for a number of years, playing a part in assisting Kiwi kids affected by poverty. KidsCan believes that education is a child’s ticket out of poverty, but kids can’t learn when they are cold, wet and hungry. So they partner with low-decile schools and early childhood centres across New Zealand to give Kiwi kids affected by poverty the essentials they need to learn. Providing food, jackets, shoes and health products helps children participate in learning and offers the opportunity for a better future. Together we can make a better New Zealand for all Kiwi kids.

Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust  – the Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter is staffed by full-time and highly experienced flight crew consisting of pilots, paramedics and crewmen and is dependent on donations including the financial backing of business. TSA is proud to be a corporate sponsor of this essential service, helping to ensure the delivery of a professional, efficient, emergency air ambulance, and search and rescue service to the communities of Greater Auckland 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Gillies McIndoe Research Institute (GMRI) a few years ago we asked the Wellington team to nominate a regional charity of their choice. They chose the Gillies McIndoe Research Institute (GMRI) who are TSA clients and therefore their great work is familiar to the team. We’ve been supporting them ever since. Headed by Dr Swee Tan, the GMRI organisation consists of a world-class research team, who are pioneering studies into how numerous diseases, including cancer, fibrotic conditions and vascular birthmarks, are treated. Their goal is the treatment of cancer without surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy – to bypass everything we have done for the last 100 years.

Auckland City Mission (ACM ) TSA is currently engaged as Project Manager for ACM’s Homeground project. The ACM is a charitable organisation providing both health and social support facilities for some of the country’s most vulnerable communities. The Homeground facility at 140 Hobson Street, Auckland, will offer a new 12,000m², 9 story development which will provide wrap-around support services for 80 accommodation units for those on the social housing register. TSA is not only Project Manager to ACM for this project, but is also proud to support the Mission in other ways too, including donating to Homeground fundraising appeal and our team offering volunteer services at ACM’s Christmas distribution centre.
